Hello Fellow Teachers!
Teaching is a calling, but even a calling can feel heavy some days. After more than 30 years of teaching, coaching, and supporting educators, I can tell you that it is completely normal to have questions, doubts, and moments where you wonder if you are making a difference.
What if my students aren’t progressing as quickly as I hoped? That happens. Every class is different, and sometimes growth is slower than the pacing guide. That doesn’t mean you aren’t a good teacher, it means you are paying attention.
What if my lessons aren’t engaging enough? We’ve all had lessons that fell flat. Reflecting and adjusting is what great teachers do.
What if I’m not doing enough to meet every student’s needs? You are only one person, and you are doing more than you think. Using the right tools can lighten the load and still give your students what they need.
Teaching is demanding work that can easily spill over into every corner of your life, but it is also work that shapes futures. I am here to share strategies, routines, and encouragement to help you feel confident about your instruction and supported in your practice. You deserve time to enjoy your students and celebrate those lightbulb moments.
If you are looking for ideas to make literacy instruction easier and more effective, I have plenty to share, from small changes that make a big impact to research-based approaches you can trust.
In case no one has told you this lately, you are a great teacher. Your students are lucky to have you.
