Hello Fellow Parents!

Parenting can feel like the most rewarding and the most exhausting job all at once. As the mother of three grown children, I can tell you I have asked all the questions you are probably asking now, and worried about most of the same things, too.

What if my child isn’t happy? They won’t be all the time, and that’s okay. The hard moments make the joyful ones even sweeter.

What if my child struggles in school? They will, and those challenges will help them build resilience and independence for the future.

What if I’m not doing enough? No parent can do everything for their child, nor should we. Your presence, your love, and your effort matter more than perfection.

Being a parent means wearing a lot of hats: health care coordinator, chef, counselor, chauffeur, tutor, and about a dozen more jobs you didn’t know you were signing up for. You don’t have to add “classroom teacher” to the list to support your child’s learning, just weave it into everyday life. Play language games while you wait somewhere, read things they enjoy, and let them help with cooking to practice math skills.

The ideas I share here are meant to make those moments easier, so you have more time to enjoy each stage of your child’s life. Each season brings new challenges, but also new chances to connect, and as cliché as it sounds, you will miss this stage someday.

In case no one has told you this today, you are doing a great job. You are the best parent for your child, simply because you are theirs.
